Writing can be a cathartic experience. The act of putting your words onto paper allow for hidden emotions – that define who you are – to move. These emotions which are inextricably coupled with an event, memory or relationship want to be released and are looking to you to make it happen. They feel trapped and unwittingly take on the role of a gatekeeper whose job it is to evaluate and admit all new experiences in your life. Nobody wants these emotions to have this job.
Once you’ve written it down, make sure to tear up the paper, flush it down the toilet, burn it or whatever else you want to do to put an end to these emotions.
